New methods for cleaning marine-origin plastic waste

How can we effectively clean plastics retrieved from water bodies to make them suitable for recycling? The latest report, "Pathways for Cleaning Collected Ocean-Bound Plastic", prepared by a team from the Department of Environmental Technology (Dr. Eng. Patrycja Jutrzenka-Trzebiatowska, Dr. Eng. Emilia Gontarek-Castro, and Dr. Eng. Anna Gołąbiewska), presents innovative cleaning technologies that efficiently remove contaminants from plastic waste surfaces, considering both economic and environmental aspects.

The report was developed as part of the Circular Ocean-bound Plastic project, which is included in the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2021-2027 under Priority 2.3: "Supporting the Development of a Circular and More Resource-Efficient Economy."
